Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Guest Relations Manager, the Garden Guest Navigator is responsible for providing daily directional assistance to visitors, ensuring a smooth flow of traffic throughout the gardens. This role also involves sharing historical insights, garden lore, and information about daily events related to specific areas of the gardens. The focus is on enhancing the quality of the visitor experience while adhering to the guidelines set forth by See Rock City Inc.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional service to both internal and external guests, aligning with the organization's mission and values.
- Exemplify appropriate interactions with guests and partners consistently.
- Provide an engaging visitor experience while guiding them along the garden paths.
- Comply with all organizational policies and procedures at all times.
- Actively engage with guests throughout the garden area.
- Memorize and effectively communicate scripts, historical facts, and daily information with enthusiasm to interested visitors.
- Maintain scheduled shifts and designated Wayfinding zones as directed by Guest Relations Leadership.
- Perform duties outdoors in various weather conditions and temperatures.
- Assist with event preparations and seasonal operations as assigned.
- Complete additional tasks as directed by management.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in hospitality, guest services, or a related field, with a willingness to undergo training.
- Strong time management skills.
- A friendly demeanor, a desire to contribute positively to a team, and a willingness to learn or enhance skills.
- Ability to present a professional, engaging, and courteous image to guests and team members.
- Effective communication skills in one-on-one and small group settings, valuing team feedback and input.
- Ability to read and comprehend operational documents.
- Capability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, particularly with American currency.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events as required.
- Regular use of hands and fingers is necessary, with the ability to lift or move up to 15 pounds. Frequent walking, stooping, kneeling, or crouching is required, along with the ability to stand for extended periods.
