Job Summary

To ensure the stability and integrity of the corporate network environment, we are seeking a skilled Network Manager to provide day-to-day support and maintenance of the corporate network and server infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Configure, install, maintain, and diagnose LAN/WAN networks, including routers, smart switches, and firewalls.
  • Assist in securing the district, schools, and their resources against security threats, including cyberthreats, ransomware, malware, phishing, etc.
  • Understand and have expertise in network switching/routing and TCP/IP.
  • Maintain and upgrade Palo Alto Network infrastructure.
  • Work with virtualization technologies, including VMware ESXi, vCenter/vSphere, Horizon View, and Veeam.
  • Configure, install, maintain, and diagnose VoIP telephone systems.
  • Work with network storage in various forms, including SAN and NAS.
  • Assist with servers and network appliances and their associated backups.
  • Work with printers, copiers, and print servers.
  • Have in-depth knowledge of Windows client systems and Windows scripting.
  • Work with Windows Active Directory and Group Policy.
  • Document troubleshooting and resolution actions.
  • Be willing to research and train for new technologies.
  • Work effectively and positively with others.
  • Be able to lift and install network/computer equipment that sometimes exceeds 50 lbs.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree and three (3) years of experience in a computer-related field.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Cisco CCNA or Network+ Certification (preferred).
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with Windows and Apple-based products.
  • Active Directory and Group Policy experience.
Working Conditions

This position will be subject to the Students First Act of 2011.

Madison City Schools reserves the right to fill this position by transfer of a qualified applicant who is already employed by Madison City Schools.

Under the Students First Act of 2011, no credit toward tenure or non-probationary status is earned in the initial school year of employment if the date of hire occurs after September 30.

Salary and Benefits

Salary range: according to Madison City Schools Salary Schedule.

Up to 10 years of experience will be counted for new employees who provide documentation of full-time experience in the area of concentration.
