Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Leggett & Platt Incorporated. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our equipment and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on machinery, equipment, and physical structures
  • Inspect and test equipment to identify potential issues and prevent downtime
  • Install, maintain, and repair pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment
  • Repair and maintain electrical apparatus, including transformers and wiring
  • Operate cutting torches and welding equipment to cut or join metal parts
  • Fabricate and repair wooden structures, including counters, benches, and partitions
  • Monitor and report lock-out and tag-out procedure violations
  • Interpret blueprints and measure, mark, and scribe material for machining
  • Set up and operate various woodworking equipment, including bandsaws, grinders, and drill presses
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; related experience and/or training preferred
  • Ability to operate fork lifts and platform lifts as needed
  • Ability to work at heights up to 24 feet
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Work Environment

Physical Demands

The physical demands of this position include standing, walking, and lifting up to 25 pounds, with occasional lifting of heavier objects. The ideal candidate will be able to perform these tasks with minimal fatigue and maintain a safe working environment.
