About the Role

Arcfield is seeking a highly skilled and experienced engineer to join our team supporting Space Protection-related Modeling and Simulation Analysis. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and delivering integrated software tools to evaluate the application of satellite protection technologies and tradecraft throughout the system engineering lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Space Protection Evaluations: Perform threat avoidance (course of action) concepts evaluations to ensure the safety and security of our satellite systems.
  • Software Development: Develop and maintain software tools that can be used to evaluate the application of satellite protection technologies and tradecraft.
  • Modeling and Simulation: Perform Modeling and Simulation (M&S) to support development and tailoring of software, algorithms, and technologies.
  • Orbital Analysis: Perform orbital analyses and trade studies to ensure the optimal performance of our satellite systems.
  • Maneuver Determination and Analysis: Perform maneuver determination and analysis to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our satellite systems.
  • Campaign Modeling and Scenario Development: Develop and analyze campaign models and scenarios to ensure the effective use of our satellite systems.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g. aerospace, mechanical, electrical, software engineering, imaging science, data science, mathematics, physics).
  • Experience: Minimum 8-10 years of experience in space protection evaluations, collision avoidance evaluations, and software development.
  • Clearance: Must possess and be able to maintain a Top Secret/Secret Clearance with Polygraph.
  • Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, experience using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative technical solutions or approaches to problems.
  • Domain Knowledge: Intelligence community domain knowledge, and demonstrated understanding of user needs and operational environments.
  • Systems Engineering: Understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle to include independent testing and data verification.
  • Software Development: Experience developing M&S engineering code to solve hard problems and create processes for repeatable results.
Desired Qualifications
  • Radar and Electro-optical Engineering: Experience in radar and electro-optical engineering.
  • Atmospheric Modeling: Experience in atmospheric modeling.
  • Data Mining and Analysis: Experience in data mining, analysis, performance analysis, predictive analytics, and reporting using various methods and tools.
  • Software Development: Experience in developing software applications and data architectures supporting systems engineering/development efforts.
  • Formal Software Testing: Familiarity with formal software testing.
