Job Summary:

Tidewater Staffing Solutions is assisting our client with the search for an experienced Accounts Receivable and Collections professional.

This is a hybrid work situation, with the opportunity to work remotely over 50% of the week after an initial training period.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all receivables and collections activities, managing a team of approximately ten employees, and ensuring high-quality billing, PO collection, and cash application procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and ensure compliance with customer requirements and laws for billing, PO collection, cash collection, and cash application procedures.
  • Review and analyze AR aging, identify potential bad debts, and make decisions on customer credit holds and collections.
  • Negotiate with customers to resolve collection issues.
  • Develop and lead a high-performing team to meet individual and company performance goals.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in AR or collections in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, with experience leading a large team.
  • Deep understanding of AR processes and metrics, with a track record of driving improvements in AR cycle time and related metrics.
  • Experience working in a multi-entity environment and understanding the complexities involved.
  • System conversion experience is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficient technical knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Great Plains software experience is preferred.

  • Leadership skills that focus on integrity, positivity, and a commitment to excellence.
  • Exceptional customer service and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to provide open and honest feedback in a professional and non-confrontational manner.
