Position Overview:
The Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan (RIM), affiliated with Wayne State University's School of Medicine, is seeking a qualified Neuropsychologist to join our esteemed Rehabilitation Department. RIM is recognized as a leading facility within the Detroit Medical Center network, dedicated to providing exceptional care for individuals facing physical and neurological rehabilitation challenges.
Role Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will engage in comprehensive assessment and therapeutic interventions for patients with various neurological conditions. Responsibilities include:
- Conducting detailed neuropsychological evaluations.
- Developing tailored treatment plans for individuals recovering from traumatic brain injuries, strokes, and other neurological disorders.
- Collaborating with an interdisciplinary rehabilitation team to enhance patient outcomes.
- Supervising neuropsychology graduate students and residents during their clinical training.
Qualifications:
Educational Background: A Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology with specialized training in Neuropsychology, including completion of a two-year postdoctoral residency in Clinical Neuropsychology. Candidates must be eligible for licensure in Michigan.
Professional Experience:
- Required: Demonstrated experience in neuropsychological assessment and treatment of patients with neurological conditions, particularly those with traumatic brain injuries, strokes, anoxic injuries, neoplastic diseases, dementia, and movement disorders.
- Preferred: Experience working within a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team and a commitment to mentoring practicum students and neuropsychology residents.
Certifications:
- Required: Licensed Psychologist, eligible for practice in Michigan.
- Preferred: Board Certification in Clinical Neuropsychology from the American Board of Professional Psychology.
