Compensation, Benefits, and Advantages of the Role:

Key Responsibilities of the Role:

Develop and maintain a monthly activity calendar; schedule, plan, and execute activities based on the facility's socialization needs and resident interests Capture and document activity outcomes for promotional media Prepare and coordinate special events for residents, including support for marketing initiatives Foster relationships with referral sources to generate sponsorships and donations for activities Organize volunteers from various organizations to engage with residents on shared interests Prepare special snacks with residents Set up dining areas for activities Ensure cleanliness and safety in all activity spaces Assist residents in accessing common areas as outlined in their care plans Collaborate with residents to encourage participation in activities Support other departments with resident needs as required Perform concierge duties as directed, including on weekends, holidays, and evenings.


Qualifications and Skills Required:
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a social or recreational program within the last five (5) years, including one year in a full-time patient (resident) activities program in a healthcare environment Relevant experience with an understanding of psychiatric care techniques and mental health issues Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team Strong communication skills with residents, families, and all organizational levels Ability to respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations Commitment to maintaining confidentiality Knowledge of training techniques for clinical staff.

Requirements:

Ability to lead group activities and engage comfortably with residents Reliability, outgoing personality, and a genuine enjoyment of working with the elderly Basic computer skills for managing patient/client information and electronic records A valid state driver's license with a clean driving record Current CPR and CAPE certifications.
