**Job Summary:**

Sanders Brothers Construction is seeking a skilled Asphalt Paving Laborer to join our team in Charleston, SC. As an Asphalt Paving Laborer, you will play a crucial role in the construction process, ensuring the successful completion of asphalt paving projects.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Placement of hot mix asphalt using shovels, lutes, or other related tools.
  • Shoveling asphaltic materials and assisting with maintenance of asphalt finishing machines.
  • Following instructions from Field Managers and/or Asphalt Foremen.
  • Working rotating shifts, including nights and weekends.
  • Operating in varying weather conditions and work environments.
  • Maintaining company vehicles, property, and equipment.
  • Complying with company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.

**Requirements:**

  • Experience using hand tools.
  • Ability to obtain a negative drug test result prior to hire and maintain throughout employment.
  • Meet company employment standards regarding background checks.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Ability to lift, push, and/or pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Flexible availability, including overtime, weekends, and on-call time.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

  • Valid driver's license and 3-year motor vehicle record meeting company vehicle operation policy standards.
  • DOT medical certification (if required by the position).
  • 1 year of experience working with high-production asphalt laying crews.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
