Job Summary:
The Logistics Operations Specialist II is responsible for cross-training in various logistics support functions. This role focuses on multiple areas, including receiving, releasing, inventory management, and other essential tasks at various company distribution centers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establishes and adheres to a control system aimed at minimizing damage, breakage, and inventory obsolescence.
- Documents shortages and overages for daily replenishment activities.
- Conducts physical inventory counts in accordance with established standards.
- Reconciles inventory records to ensure complete and accurate counts.
- Investigates and reports discrepancies in inventory counts or computations.
- Reports errors made by checkers, selectors, and forklift operators through established reporting processes.
- Performs additional warehouse duties as required, including responsibilities of nightshift window and receiving clerk.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Intermediate proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Intermediate understanding of warehouse communication systems.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Basic knowledge of SAP reporting and transactional applications.
- Fundamental mathematical skills.
- Ability to research information, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Capacity to reason, conceptualize, and solve problems effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with partners and vendors.
- Willingness to learn new technology systems, methods, and processes.
- Aptitude for working in a fast-paced production environment.
- Commitment to maintaining a high level of accuracy and productivity.
- Ability to comprehend and interpret information effectively.
- Competence in preparing reports and business correspondence.
- Flexibility to work varied schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
A high school diploma or GED is required. A minimum of two years of related experience or an equivalent combination of experience and/or higher education is necessary.
Physical Demands:
This position requires continuous use of close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus. Frequent communication is necessary, along with fine finger movements (e.g., sorting and typing). The role involves standing or walking for extended periods and sitting for long durations. Occasionally, the role requires reaching, touching, or handling objects, as well as pushing, pulling, maneuvering, or lifting items up to 40 lbs. Bending, kneeling, or squatting may also be necessary.
Work Environment:
The work is primarily conducted in a warehouse setting, where noise levels may vary.
