We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Safety Attendant to join our team at Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport. As a Patient Safety Attendant, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe and supportive environment for our patients, while also providing exceptional care and support to our patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain a clean and safe environment in the patient care area, adhering to all infection control and safety protocols.
- Assist with the plan of care as delegated by the staff nurse/department lead, ensuring that patient needs are met and exceeded.
- Provide constant observation of patients, notifying nursing personnel of any changes in behavior or status, and intervening as needed to maintain patient safety.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams, ensuring that all needs are met and concerns are addressed.
- Adapt behavior to meet the specific needs of each patient population, demonstrating respect, empathy, and compassion at all times.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) Training required prior to independent patient care.
- Computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information.
- Prior experience in a psychiatric environment.
- Experience with computer data entry.
