Position Summary

A temporary position for a Teacher Aide is available within our educational program. This role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to support the educational needs of school-age children across various abilities. The Teacher Aide will be responsible for assisting in daily classroom activities and ensuring a supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Adhere to the classroom schedule to help achieve individual student goals.
  • Facilitate individual and group activities in collaboration with the teacher.
  • Maintain organization of student workstations and materials.
  • Assist in creating educational resources as directed by the teacher.
  • Participate in staff meetings and professional development sessions.
  • Support students during therapy sessions to reinforce learning in the classroom.
  • Organize and arrange the classroom to promote effective learning.
  • Assist students with mobility needs, including transportation to and from school buses.
  • Accompany students to special classes such as physical education, art, and music.
  • Support students in dressing and undressing for outdoor activities.
  • Provide assistance with personal care needs, including toileting and hygiene.
  • Facilitate meal preparation and feeding, promoting student independence.
  • Ensure cleanliness of feeding equipment and assist in washing dishes.
  • Manage the use of adaptive equipment and assistive devices.
  • Comply with ethical and legal standards in all interactions.
  • Follow agency policies and prioritize safety for all individuals.
  • Perform additional job-related tasks as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Preferred experience in early childhood and special education settings.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks related to student support, with or without accommodation.
