POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Room Attendant is responsible for fulfilling the cleaning and replenishment requirements of guest accommodations within designated sections of the establishment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:
  • Promptly addresses guest inquiries (e.g., delivering or retrieving amenities such as hair dryers, irons, rollaway beds, etc.).
  • Transports waste and soiled linens to designated disposal areas.
  • Dusts, sweeps, mops, scrubs, vacuums, and sanitizes assigned areas of the establishment.
  • Strips, waxes, and cleans floors as directed.
  • Maintains stairwells and assists with special projects as needed.
  • Clears elevator tracks upon request.
  • Cleans carpets, rugs, and upholstered furnishings as necessary.
  • Empties waste receptacles and cleans ashtrays.
  • Assists with minor repairs in guest rooms and public spaces, such as changing light bulbs and addressing plumbing issues, while reporting significant concerns to the on-duty manager.
  • Prepares and delivers guest room amenities using caddies to all floors.
  • Restocks cleaning supplies and delivers them to various floors as required.
  • Organizes and maintains linen and supply storage areas.
  • Assists in rotating and flipping mattresses as necessary.
  • Regularly inspects work areas to identify potential issues or maintenance needs, notifying the on-duty manager accordingly.
  • Properly tags and delivers lost and found items to the Housekeeping Office for safekeeping.
  • Adheres to performance standards and company policies as they pertain to the department.
  • Maintains a consistent and reliable attendance record.

AGE and GAMING:

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Gaming property - Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license as required.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

A high school diploma or GED is preferred.

SPECIAL SKILLS:

Strong organizational and interpersonal skills are essential.

LANGUAGE ABILITY:

Ability to read and understand simple instructions and correspondence. Ability to write basic instructions and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with groups of guests or associates.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense reasoning to various situations.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.

Essential responsibilities include moderate to heavy physical activity such as lifting or maneuvering at least seventy-five (75) pounds, pushing or pulling linen and trash bins weighing 200 to 300 pounds, and standing or walking for the entirety of the shift. Responsibilities may involve working on slippery or wet surfaces and handling hazardous materials while wearing appropriate protective gear. Potential exposure to bodily fluids may occur. Extensive bending, stooping, and stretching of arms are required during the assigned shift.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate may encounter while performing the essential functions of this job.

The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate, but may increase to loud levels in certain areas. Associates may be exposed to tobacco smoke in designated areas.

Due to the dynamic nature of the hospitality and entertainment industry, associates must be flexible in their schedules to meet the operational needs of the establishment.
