Salary:

Role Summary

Under the guidance of the Principal, the Kindergarten Teacher will facilitate the educational journey of scholars within their classroom. This role involves close collaboration with students, families, and school leadership to ensure both academic success and character growth for every child.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create a nurturing and structured learning atmosphere that encourages all scholars to engage in their educational pursuits and personal development.
  • Design and execute daily lesson plans aligned with the school’s long-term educational objectives.
  • Develop an engaging, age-appropriate curriculum tailored to meet the diverse needs of each student.
  • Conduct assessments, monitor student progress, and analyze data to identify areas for improvement.
  • Implement effective classroom management strategies and appropriate disciplinary measures.
  • Maintain comprehensive records, including attendance, behavior logs, academic performance, and communication with parents.
  • Set ambitious yet achievable goals for the academic year and for each assessment cycle.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of scholars during school activities, both on and off campus.
  • Regularly assess individual student progress through a variety of evaluation methods.
  • Hold students accountable to the school’s behavioral standards, fostering a culture of respect and responsibility.
  • Recognize and celebrate student achievements and character growth.
  • Build and sustain positive relationships with students.
  • Seek opportunities for professional growth and development to enhance teaching effectiveness.
  • Actively participate in faculty meetings, professional development sessions, and school events.
  • Engage in educational or extracurricular activities outside of standard school hours as needed.
  • Support recruitment efforts for new scholars as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education and Certification Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required.
  • Missouri Teaching Certification is required (Early Childhood Education B-3 preferred).

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of teaching experience, particularly in urban educational settings, is advantageous.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Familiarity with educational technology and virtual learning platforms.
  • Demonstrated success in fostering student achievement.
  • Strong classroom management and instructional skills.
  • Passion for content knowledge and effective teaching.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and time management abilities.
  • A proactive work ethic, innovative mindset, and problem-solving skills.
  • Receptive to feedback and committed to ongoing improvement.

Compensation

The starting salary for this position is competitive and is adjusted based on experience, certifications, and educational qualifications.

Schedule

This role requires attendance during core hours throughout the academic year.
