Job Overview

Position: School Housekeeper

Location: Westfield, NJ

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 11am-6pm

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain cleanliness in all shared spaces, including restrooms, hallways, and stairwells.
  • Ensure that supplies in restrooms and staff areas are adequately stocked.
  • Operate sanitizing equipment effectively.
  • Report any maintenance issues to school management promptly.

Employment Status: Non-Exempt, Hourly

Responsibilities Include:

  1. Safely mix and store cleaning chemicals and supplies.
  2. Maintain a binder of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for all cleaning products used.
  3. Notify management of low supply levels or needed replacements.
  4. Clean and maintain outdoor picnic areas.
  5. Assist classroom staff with the operation of sanitizing machines.
  6. Maintain all supplies in good condition and report any damages.
  7. Exhibit a courteous demeanor with all staff, students, and visitors.
  8. Uphold confidentiality regarding school and student information.
  9. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
  • Familiarity with cleaning products and methods.
  • Experience operating cleaning equipment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks in a school environment.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Ability to perform physical tasks, including bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
  2. Capability to lift and move items weighing up to 30 lbs.
  3. Adhere to the dress code, including company logo attire.
  4. Flexibility to work under varying conditions and respond to staffing needs.
  5. Perform duties on-site as required.
