Position: School Housekeeper

Location: Westfield, NJ

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 11 AM - 6 PM

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure cleanliness and upkeep of all communal areas within the school, including restrooms, hallways, and staircases.
  • Monitor and replenish supplies in restrooms and staff areas.
  • Utilize sanitizing equipment effectively to maintain a hygienic environment.
  • Report any maintenance issues or areas requiring repair to school management.

Position Status: Non-Exempt, Hourly

Essential Duties:

  1. Safely mix and store cleaning chemicals and supplies, ensuring they are out of reach of children.
  2. Maintain a binder of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for all cleaning products used.
  3. Notify management of low supply levels and any necessary replacements.
  4. Assist in maintaining outdoor areas, including cleaning picnic tables.
  5. Support classroom staff with the operation of sanitizing machines as per schedule.
  6. Maintain all cleaning supplies in good condition and report any damaged items.
  7. Uphold a friendly and professional demeanor with all school community members.
  8. Ensure confidentiality of student and school information in accordance with company policies.
  9. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
  • Familiarity with cleaning products, techniques, and equipment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks effectively in a school environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift and move items weighing up to 30 lbs.
  • Adherence to dress code, including wearing designated work attire.
  • Flexibility to work under varying conditions and respond to staffing needs.
