Overview:


Welcomes clients with a friendly attitude, utilizing their names when possible, and expresses gratitude for their business with Tompkins Community Bank.

Provides assistance to clients, ensuring they feel valued. Guarantees that financial transactions are processed accurately and efficiently, adhering to all policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Fosters relationships with clients by connecting them with team members who can address their financial needs.

Operates under close supervision with limited decision-making authority.

Responsibilities:


Execute a range of tasks promptly and accurately to support the branch's financial operations, including but not limited to: Accepting and processing deposit transactions.


Cashing checks and handling withdrawal transactions within authorized limits and operational policies, ensuring proper identification is obtained and verifying sufficient funds are available.

Selling Cashier's Checks.

Redeeming EE Savings Bonds.

Issuing approved cash advances on company-accepted credit cards.

Transferring funds between accounts as necessary.

May accept and process utility payments.

Accepting and processing all types of loan and credit card payments.

Maintaining awareness of new business opportunities with customers; actively referring customers to appropriate service personnel.

Responding to customer inquiries via telephone regarding balances, withdrawals, account verifications, etc.

Preparing daily settlement and cash transaction proofs; balancing cash drawers accurately and efficiently on a daily basis.

Preparing and reviewing reports related to the function, such as Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs) and Bank Secrecy Reports.

Processing night deposits, mail deposits, ATM deposits, and courier deposit transactions.

Maintaining an approved cash level, and selling excess or damaged cash when appropriate.

Balancing and servicing ATM machines, coin machines, or currency transaction machines as needed.

Verifying and wrapping coins and/or currency for vault control purposes.


Complying with current laws and organizational policies designed to foster a workplace free from harassment and discrimination.


Cooperating with and supporting adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Providing safe deposit box services to customers.

Working on Saturdays and evenings as required; opening and closing the branch as necessary.

Performing all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Experience in cash handling within banking, cash office, or retail settings is preferred, ideally six (6) months to one (1) year.

Exceptional customer service skills.

Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication abilities.

Capability to follow detailed instructions.

Ability to operate teller equipment and quickly learn banking systems.

Proficient computer skills.

Moderate typing skills and ability to operate various office machines.
