About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Voice Network Engineer II to join our Network Services Team at Nsight. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting our voice-centric platforms deployed for both wireless and wireline operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support voice centric platforms deployed by our company for both wireless and wireline operations.
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for major outages.
  • Provide support for Operations, Administration, Maintenance, and Provisioning (OAM&P) as well as new technology and product research implementation and design.
  • Install, administer, configure, and maintain network management systems, including operating systems and related software.
  • Provide on-call support to resolve troubles outside of normal business hours.
  • Work with the monitoring team in managing applications, device availability, network conditions/status, system reliability & performance, and maintenance programs.
  • Manage network hardware, supporting systems, and network additions/ upgrades.
  • Create and implement Maintenance of Procedure (MOP) and review.
  • Document and report Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for critical network outages.
Requirements
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with Sr. Management, as well as fellow engineers and vendors.
  • Analytical and logical problem-solving skills.
  • Expert knowledge of voice core platforms, call flows, and protocol stacks, including SBC, STP, IMS, MGW, MGCF, and voice application servers.
  • Advanced understanding of voice delivery over both TDM and IP-based networks, including SS7, ISUP, SIGTRAN, SIP/SDP, RTP, IP Routing/Switching, and QoS.
  • Telephony Circuit architecture knowledge, including OC192 – OC3, DS3, DS1, etc.
  • Understanding of Cellular Voice and SMS services, as well as additional signaling protocols used in Wireless (cellular) Voice delivery, including Diameter, DNS/ENUM, Audio/Video codecs used in wireless voice applications.
  • Experience designing, implementing, troubleshooting, and operating voice core network elements and protocol stacks.
  • Ability to produce accurate and comprehensive network documentation.
  • Ability to lead troubleshooting and design efforts for wireless and wireline voice issues.
  • Understanding of IP Networking Technologies and Virtualization Technologies.
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in the design and operation of telecommunications or enterprise voice networks.
  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with PaloAlto firewalls and Cisco IOS-XR based routers.
  • Kubernetes Experience.
  • Linux OS experience.
  • SSCA SIP School Certification.
