Job Summary

Fincantieri Marine Group is seeking a skilled Fabricator II - Aluminum Construction Specialist to join our team at our Green Bay, Wisconsin location. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for assembling and welding aluminum components and parts, ensuring high-quality results and meeting production deadlines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze engineering drawings and specifications to plan layout/assembly sequence of major weldments.
  • Determine required equipment and welding method, applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, welding techniques, and standard procedures/processes provided by the company.
  • Lay out, position, and secure parts and assemblies according to specifications/drawings using straight edge, combination square, calipers, and ruler.
  • Cut aluminum plate/shapes using powered saws and hand shears.
  • Weld or tack aluminum parts together using spot welding gun or FCAW equipment.
  • Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
  • Climb ladders or work on scaffolds to assemble components.
  • Signal crane operator to move large work pieces.
  • Dismantle aluminum assemblies or cut scrap metal, using saws, routers, or plasma-arc equipment.
  • Position and secure parts using hoist, crane, wire, and banding machine, or hand tools.
  • Fuse parts together, seal tension points, and add metal to build up parts.
  • Remove rough spots from work piece using portable sander, hand file, or scraper.
  • Heat, form, and dress metal parts using hand tools, torch, or arc welding equipment.
  • Develop templates and other work aids to hold and align parts.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A Weld Certificate from a technical school or four years of related welding experience and/or training is preferred.
  • A general knowledge of blueprints and hand tools is required.
  • Light gauge aluminum fabrication experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) of Aluminum is preferred.
Working Conditions

The typical lifting/pulling requirements are between 5lbs and 55lbs. The typical tool weight is 25lbs for ladders, 20-35lbs for suitcase welders, and 10lbs for weld whips. The job requires frequent bending, squatting, and kneeling. The employee may be required to work in confined or enclosed spaces.
