Position Overview

This role is designated for a member of the National Guard, specifically within the Army National Guard Units.

Job Title: Aviation Maintenance Specialist

Location: National Guard Aviation Support Facility

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct comprehensive inspections and preventive maintenance on military aircraft, ensuring operational readiness through meticulous checks and assessments.
  2. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, performing unscheduled maintenance as necessary to maintain aircraft functionality.
  3. Utilize a variety of diagnostic tools and techniques to identify problems, executing repairs and reassembly of aircraft components.
  4. Install and adjust major aircraft systems, including engines and hydraulic systems, while collaborating with specialized personnel as needed.
  5. Perform ground functional tests to verify the integrity of all aircraft systems, ensuring safety and compliance with operational standards.
  6. Manage the servicing of aircraft with essential fluids and materials, and conduct pre-flight inspections to guarantee safety prior to takeoff.
  7. Engage in additional duties as required, including emergency response tasks and other operational support activities.

Qualifications:

Military Grades: Enlisted (E-7 and below)

Compatible Military Assignments: MOS 15 series

General Experience: Candidates should possess experience or training that equips them with the skills necessary for aircraft maintenance, including the ability to effectively use hand tools and diagnostic equipment.

Specialized Experience:

  • Experience in performing mechanical repairs under supervision, demonstrating the ability to follow detailed instructions for routine maintenance tasks.
  • Proven capability in installing and adjusting aircraft components, with a focus on maintaining safety and operational standards.
  • Experience in coordinating maintenance activities and instructing less experienced personnel in aircraft repair processes.

Education: Relevant training and experience in aviation maintenance are essential for this position.

Additional Information: Compliance with military registration requirements is necessary for eligibility in this role.
