Senior Assurance Role

Clark Schaefer Hackett is seeking an experienced Senior Assurance professional to join our Audit team. As a Senior Assurance professional, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, managing, executing, and delivering on all phases of audit engagements in a variety of industries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise the conduct of engagements through drafting of financial statements and completion of financial reports in preparation for final review.
  • Plan and manage engagements to ensure compliance, client satisfaction, and timely completion within budgetary constraints.
  • Develop a reputation as a business advisor by recommending creative solutions to complex client issues.
  • Strategically approach current and future client needs by gaining an in-depth understanding of their business and key risk factors.
  • Participate in the firm's practice development efforts by identifying opportunities to provide additional services to existing clients and developing new client relationships.
  • Coach, train, develop, lead, and motivate junior audit staff.
Qualifications:
  • Possess and demonstrate expertise in generally accepted accounting and auditing standards, AICPA Compilation and Review Standards, common accounting and audit procedures and techniques, and the firm's quality control standards.
  • Apply knowledge of internal controls and clients' business to identify risk, research as required, and make appropriate recommendations to clients and firm leadership.
  • Expert understanding of audit procedures, documentation, and presentation of workpapers.
  • Review complete sets of financial statements and related disclosures to ensure accuracy and staff learning and development.
  • Supervise staff auditors assigned to engagements, providing guidance, direction, and overall review of deliverables.
  • Communicate with clients, their attorneys, bankers, and other third parties, assuming the lead role in the relationship, disseminating information in an appropriate and timely manner.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • CPA certification preferred.
  • A minimum of three years' experience as a Staff Accountant II in Public Accounting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Thorough understanding of GAAP.
