Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Safety Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our safety team, you will play a critical role in ensuring a safe working environment for our employees and stakeholders. Under the supervision of the Regional Safety Director, you will be responsible for certifying the implementation of corporate safety, health, and environmental programs and policies across our job sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Site-Specific Safety Orientation Programs: Coordinate and deliver site-specific safety orientation programs in accordance with established corporate protocols.
  • Specialized Safety Training: Conduct specialized safety training sessions, including fall protection, man lift, forklift, powder actuated tools, lockout, and confined space entry.
  • Proactive Work Area Surveillance: Conduct regular work area surveillance inspections, air sampling tests for confined space entry, property damage, and personal injury investigations, and prepare associated reports.
  • Accident and Safety Violation Documentation: Document all accidents, safety violations, and unsafe conditions or activities. Compile data, photographs, and relevant forms and reports in accordance with program procedures and federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Industry Standards and Best Practices: Stay up-to-date on construction industry safety standards and make recommendations to the Regional Safety Director on best practices as appropriate.
  • Supply Chain Management: Ensure that project sites are equipped with necessary safety and first aid supplies, as well as personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Inspection Accompaniment: Accompany safety, health, and insurance inspections on walk-through tours as required.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Safety Management or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: Up to 5 years of experience in the mechanical construction industry is preferred.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Excellent ability to establish and foster effective professional relationships with others, including team members at all levels of the company, vendors, contractors, etc. Ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement necessary corrective measures. Excellent team collaboration and communication skills. Understanding of construction industry practices, processes, and standards and associated safety best practices. Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and experience with project management software is a plus.
Physical and/or Travel Demands
  • Travel from job site to job site may be required.
Benefits and Compensation
  • The salary range for this position has been established at $65,000 to $90,000 per year, and the compensation offered to the selected candidate will be based on a variety of factors, including internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.
  • Total compensation will go beyond the number on your paycheck, including a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance, paid time off, and an industry-leading benefits package, including health, dental, and vision plans, and retirement.
