Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Railway Safety Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for providing detailed analysis of train accidents and personal injuries, supporting CPKC submissions to regulatory bodies, and assisting in the development and implementation of operating practices standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough investigations of train accidents and personal injuries to identify root causes and develop recommendations for improvement
  • Support the development and submission of regulatory reports to ensure compliance with federal standards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement operating practices standards that ensure safe and efficient rail operations
  • Provide training and guidance to colleagues on regulatory requirements and best practices
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in regulatory requirements and industry best practices to ensure compliance and continuous improvement

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field or equivalent experience in the rail industry
  • Current certification in CFR 240 and DSLE designation preferred
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a related role, with a strong understanding of rail operations and regulatory requirements
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex information effectively
  • Strong team collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
