Adjunct Faculty Member

The Adjunct Instructor - Clinical for the EMS programs at Barry University is responsible for providing on-site instruction for EMT and paramedic students under the guidance of the Clinical Coordinator. This role requires effective communication with stakeholders, participation in staff meetings and continuing education training, and adherence to necessary licenses and certifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver competent instruction on relevant patient care topics during clinical experience sessions.
- Prepare and lead clinical sessions, ensuring the safe and proper use of lab equipment and hazardous materials.
- Report incidents, student misconduct, or negative performance to the Clinical Coordinator and Paramedic Program Director.
- Provide leadership and positive role modeling for students, promoting a professional and inclusive learning environment.
- Attend scheduled program meetings and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Hold a minimum of an Associate's degree from an institution recognized by the United States Department of Education.
- Possess a Florida Level A EMS Instructor Certificate.
- Have a minimum of three years of experience with an ALS service.
- Hold BLS, ACLS, and PALS Instructor credentials, as well as NAEMT instructor certification in PHTLS and AMLS.
