Psychiatrist Opportunity at Memorial Healthcare System

Memorial Healthcare System is seeking a board-certified psychiatrist to join its established adult inpatient and outpatient psychiatry programs. The inpatient service is located on the Memorial Regional Hospital campus, providing patients with access to critical care and emergency treatment services as needed. The department currently has 53 adult beds and averages over 2,000 admissions per year.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated physician to be involved in a fully supported program in a recognized dynamic healthcare system. As a faculty member of the Memorial Healthcare System ACGME-accredited Psychiatry Residency, the successful candidate will be involved in training the next generation of psychiatrists. Additionally, two to three half-days a week will be spent in the outpatient psychiatry practice, supervising residents working in their outpatient psychiatry rotation. Weekend and on-call responsibilities will be discussed with the medical director during the inquiry and interview processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide treatment for adult psychiatric inpatient units
  • Consult in the emergency department
  • Meet the following qualifications:
    • Board certification in psychiatry
    • Experience in inpatient and outpatient psychiatric evaluation and medication management
    • Experience and strong interest in academic pursuits, such as presenting at conferences and/or publishing in peer-reviewed journals, serving in GME/educational committees, and developing teaching curricula
