Production Director

Primary Function:
The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a facility that designs, builds, and improves new or rebuilds components in a job shop atmosphere with a total workforce in excess of 60 persons.
This position involves advanced planning for all subordinate departments, including budgeting, hiring, performance reviews, and coordinating the efforts of all personnel to ensure compliance with all company policies, as well as Federal, State, and local regulations.
Candidate must be comfortable interacting with employees and coworkers at all levels of the organization as well as external customers.
The Operations Manager will attend required production meetings, and various other meetings with department heads, and others, to determine how certain tasks affect those departments and to ensure that the actions of various departments are properly coordinated for the best results.
It is the responsibility of this position to assure we are properly servicing our customer's needs as well as lead the facility to market share growth within the industry and related opportunities as is mutually agreed with management.
It is expected that we can provide operations capable of year over year revenue and margin growth in area of responsibility.
Work with production management to help resolve any quality/productivity problems - internal or external.
This would imply that the leadership individual be very committed to lean manufacturing philosophies as they relate to a job shop environment.
Assure our field sales teams are equipped with the proper information and reliable costing information to perform their tasks.
Provide and track proper measurables to identify absolute success or all groups and/or department under his/her control.
Candidate should be capable of managing proper decisions related to inventory, purchasing, production planning and shipping both domestically and internationally.
Provides the control, direction, and training for manufacturing and material control, and schedules supervisors.
Provides safety management of operations.
Controls one or more budgets.
Analysis of manpower and materials required to meet company objectives based on orders and anticipated orders.
Makes certain all applicable laws are adhered to.
Comfortable in an ISO certified facility largely servicing the automotive industry.
Secondary Function:
Work with other service center located globally as well as Corporate divisions as follows: Materials, Quality, Product Engineering, Accounting, Safety, Manufacturing, and Sales.
This position also deals with many international offices.
Access to Confidential Data:
This position involves access to confidential information pertaining to Customers; Company plans, designs, development programs, etc., and therefore requires a person of high integrity.
Judgement:
High-level decisions relating to financial outcomes and personnel are required, and this person must analyze facts and determine action using a wide range of procedures, co-worker input, subordinate input and management objectives, but within limits of standard corporate practice.
