Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse

Job Summary:

This role involves providing high-quality patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN) in an ambulatory surgery center environment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in nursing principles and be able to work effectively as part of a healthcare team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Assist patients with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and toileting.
  2. Monitor patients' physical symptoms and report any concerns to the RN.
  3. Perform Point of Care Testing, including blood glucose, pregnancy, and drugs of abuse.
  4. Administer preoperative and postoperative medications within the LPN scope of practice under guidance from the RN.
  5. Document patient information accurately and thoroughly in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  6. Stock supplies and maintain equipment in all areas of the center.
  7. Perform room turnover and cleaning in accordance with center policy.
  8. Provide patient education and discharge instructions per the RN's guidance.
  9. Escort patients to their vehicles after discharge.
  10. Clean and maintain equipment according to manufacturer's recommendations.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of a practical nursing program.
  • Active LPN license.
  • Prior experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Estimated Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
