Position Summary

This position involves professional and technical responsibilities within the Community Development Department. The individual will independently manage and execute both current and long-range planning initiatives, oversee applications, and assist the Director with departmental functions. The role encompasses a variety of routine and complex tasks related to the planning of the county, including the development and enforcement of land use policies and regulations. The primary focus will be on reviewing permit applications to ensure compliance with the Gunnison County Land Use Resolution.

Salary Information

The annual salary range for this position is between $56,215 and $68,340, inclusive of comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

  • A valid Colorado driver's license is required.
  • Completion of ICS 100 and ICS 700 training within the first year of employment.

Educational Background

  • A bachelor's degree in land-use planning, natural resources, environmental resources, or a related field is required.
  • One to two years of professional experience in planning and local government administration.
  • Experience in public engagement and assistance in a governmental context is preferred.
  • Proficiency in drafting and delivering presentations to officials and the public is advantageous.
  • Any equivalent combination of education and experience deemed appropriate by the County will be considered.
