Health Office Nurse Position

The Rochester Public Schools Health Office Nurse is a critical role that requires providing expedient care to students with health issues, injuries, or illnesses. This position involves collaborating with medically complex and cognitively challenged students, as well as executing technical nursing duties.
About the Job
- Administer medications to students under the guidance of a licensed school nurse and in accordance with school policy.
- Assist in conducting school screenings such as vision, hearing, and early childhood screenings under the supervision of a Licensed School Nurse.
- Collaborate with the Licensed School Nurse in developing services for students with special needs.
- Administer first aid, emergency, and episodic care in alignment with their nursing licensure and expertise.
- Prevent the transmission of communicable diseases by gathering student immunization data in compliance with State regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum requirement - Current Minnesota Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license or Registered Nurse (RN).
- CPR and first aid certificate required.
- Proficient in using electronic health records.
- Knowledge of and experience working with children with special health needs.
- Experience managing chronic health conditions.
Estimated Salary Range: $26.91 - $30.00 (LPN); $32.09 - $34.66 (RN)
