Job Title: Line Assist

Hitachi Astemo Americas, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Line Assist to join our team in Monroe, Georgia.

Job Summary:

The Line Assist will be responsible for maintaining control over the production line, escalating problems to the Group Lead, and ensuring all daily production activities are thoroughly communicated to Group Leads. This role will also involve downtime documentation, updating Hour by Hour boards & production logs, and notification of operator problems-coaching support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain control over the production line, including machine and manpower management.
  • Escalate problems to the Group Lead and ensure all daily production activities are thoroughly communicated.
  • Document downtime and update Hour by Hour boards & production logs.
  • Notify operators of problems and provide coaching support.
  • Assist Maintenance-PE with problem resolution and repairs.
  • Maintain the production line in a safe, neat, clean, and organized environment.
  • Enforce company rules consistently and evenly.
  • Assist the production line and ensure start-up and shutdown procedures are completed.
  • Support line problem resolution and address bottlenecks.
  • Motivate team for performance goals and provide positive energy.
  • Change personnel line-up as needed and coordinate with Group Lead.
  • Communicate change-over activity with support departments.
  • Ensure training is being handled properly and consistently per outline.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills required.
  • Three (3) years manufacturing experience with preference in equipment set up, CNC machining, measurements, and calculations.
  • Enough reading and writing ability to follow work order instructions and prepare simple production reports.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Enough manual dexterity to operate machines properly.
  • Enough visual acuity (corrected) to read instructions, operate machines, and visually inspect parts products.
  • Physical ability to do work requiring frequent stooping and bending.
  • Physical strength enough to lift and carry up to 25 pounds frequently.
Work Environment:

This position works in a warehouse/production environment. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

The performance of this position requires exposure to the manufacturing areas where certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment.
