Position Overview:

The Manufacturing Engineer plays a crucial role within the Engineering and Production Team at Prime Design, a division of Safe Fleet located in Eagan, Minnesota. This position is primarily focused on planning and designing Lean Manufacturing processes. Key responsibilities include introducing new products, enhancing existing products and processes, leading lean-six sigma initiatives, and overseeing environmental, safety, and capital projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Enhance operational efficiency by evaluating equipment layout, workflow, assembly techniques, and workforce utilization while prioritizing employee safety.
  • Identify necessary parts and tools to meet manufacturing objectives in line with product and part specifications.
  • Possess familiarity with various industry concepts, practices, and procedures, and execute a range of complex tasks.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • This role does not include supervisory responsibilities.
Education, Experience, and Qualifications: Minimum Requirements-
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, or a related technical discipline.
Preferred Qualifications- A minimum of three years of experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably in a machine shop environment:
  • Proficiency in 3-D modeling software, with SolidWorks being preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in utilizing data analysis tools.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Training in Safety, Quality, and Lean Manufacturing principles.
Physical Requirements: This position involves hands-on work, with significant time spent on the manufacturing floor.
  • While performing the duties of this role, the employee is regularly required to stand, reach with hands and arms, walk, lift, and communicate effectively.
