Job Title: Human Resources Benefits and Leave Specialist

At People Incorporated, we are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Human Resources Benefits and Leave Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for the administration of benefits, leaves, and workers' compensation programs, providing subject matter expertise and empathetic support to all employees.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide new hire orientation and manager training on agency benefits, leaves, and workers' compensation.
  • Respond to internal and external department inquiries.
  • Ensure timely completion of verifications of employment and Public Service Loan Forgiveness Applications.
  • Maintain personnel files and update all applicable portals.
  • Manage benefit administration software to ensure accurate and compliant processing of benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations.
  • Audit benefit invoices monthly and track missed payroll deductions.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with benefit carriers to provide an excellent benefits processing experience.
  • Coordinate yearly open enrollment and ensure accuracy of enrollment and changes.
  • Administer all leaves of absence, coordinate benefits during leaves, and coordinate return to work.
  • Communicate with employees and management regarding leaves and workers' compensation.
  • Monitor Worker's Compensation claims, generate reports, and communicate with insurance carriers and medical staff.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent with 5 years' experience or Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Experience in benefits, FMLA, and PFML.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Skill in organization, prioritization, and working independently.
  • Ability to communicate and work with others cooperatively.
  • Ability to travel for business.
  • Ability to multi-task.
