Job Summary

The University of Kentucky seeks a highly skilled Project Manager to coordinate all aspects of a complex center grant. This individual will ensure the project remains on-track, providing timely suggestions for course correction when necessary. As the primary liaison with the NSF and other relevant agencies, they will develop the overall framework of the research program, including meeting cadence, reporting structure, and milestone tracking. Additionally, they will coordinate the logistics of an international research program, addressing non-trivial challenges such as tariffs, communication barriers, cultural differences, currency exchange, and permitting/approvals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate all aspects of the center grant, ensuring timely progress and suggesting course corrections as needed.
  • Develop and implement the overall framework of the research program, including meeting cadence, reporting structure, and milestone tracking.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with the NSF and other relevant agencies, facilitating communication and ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Coordinate the logistics of an international research program, addressing challenges such as tariffs, communication barriers, cultural differences, currency exchange, and permitting/approvals.
Requirements

This position requires a strong understanding of project management principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in grant management, research coordination, and international program development.
