Job Title: Dyslexia and ESL Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Dyslexia and ESL Specialist to join our team at Alba-Golden Independent School District. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to students with dyslexia and English language learners.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer and interpret diagnostic tests to identify dyslexic students
  • Provide services to dyslexia students and serve as ESL Coordinator for the district
  • Instruct and evaluate students with dyslexia in any phase of the program
  • Provide assistance to teachers in English/Language Arts and Reading instruction
  • Assist in coordination of Section 504 referral process and instruction of students with dyslexia
  • Develop or modify curricula and prepare lessons and other instructional materials to student ability levels
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for assignment
  • Dyslexia Specialist Training and/or Certification
  • Experience using multi-sensory teaching techniques
  • Minimum 2 years teaching experience in English/Language Arts or Reading Texas Teacher certification
Working Conditions:

The employee may spend long hours in intense concentration which requires attention to detail and high levels of accuracy. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing, and pulling are required.
