About the Role

The Executive Director of Campus Life is a key leadership position at Northwestern University, responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of comprehensive co-curricular programs and services that enhance the student experience. This role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and oversight for the Campus Life team, including policy development, strategic planning, and program evaluation.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with student government, student leaders, and campus partners to promote student engagement and development.
  • Champion the co-curricular experience through the development and implementation of policies, support services, and programs for student organizations and clubs.
  • Supervise and support professional staff, graduate assistants, and student employees to ensure a high-performing team.
  • Represent Campus Life on the Student Affairs Leadership Team and other university-wide committees to promote collaboration and coordination.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, or related field.
  • 8-10 years of experience in student activities, leadership development, and/or fraternity/sorority life.
  • Proven track record of building teams, partnerships, and programs that enhance student engagement and development.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a decentralized, research-intensive university environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD or EdD in Higher Education, Business, or related field.
  • Certifications in leadership and/or harm reduction initiatives.
  • Experience working in a highly selective institution like Northwestern University.
