Key Responsibilities- Provide Patient Care: Assist patients with hemodialysis treatment, including setting up and operating dialysis machines, monitoring patient vital signs, and providing education on dialysis procedures.
- Support Healthcare Team: Collaborate with nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and treatment.
- Maintain a Safe Environment: Ensure a clean and safe working environment for patients and staff, adhering to facility policies and procedures.
- Document Patient Information: Accurately record patient treatment data, including vital signs, treatment parameters, and any notable observations or concerns.
- Communicate Effectively: Develop and maintain effective relationships with patients, families, and healthcare team members through timely and clear communication.
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent required; certification in dialysis technology or a related field preferred.
- Experience: Previous patient care experience in a hospital setting or related facility preferred.
- Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively in a team environment; basic math skills and attention to detail.
The Patient Care Specialist will work in a fast-paced healthcare environment, interacting with patients, families, and healthcare team members. The position requires frequent standing, walking, and lifting of patients and equipment. The employee may be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases/materials.
