About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Housekeeper to join our team at Senior Carlton Living Inc. As a Housekeeper, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and comfort of our residents' living spaces.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Makes resident beds and ensures a clean and comfortable living environment.
  • Keeps utility and storage rooms in clean and orderly condition, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Distributes resident laundered articles and linens, ensuring timely and efficient service.
  • Disinfects and sterilizes bathrooms, maintaining a high level of hygiene and cleanliness.
  • Sweeps, scrubs, waxes, and/or polishes floors, using appropriate cleaning solutions and equipment.
  • Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies, using specialized cleaning techniques and equipment.
  • Dusts furniture and equipment, paying attention to detail and ensuring a dust-free environment.
  • Polishes metalwork, using appropriate polishing solutions and techniques.
  • Washes walls, ceiling, and woodwork, using gentle cleaning solutions and equipment.
  • Washes windows, door panels, and sills, ensuring a sparkling clean finish.
  • Empties wastebaskets, and empties and cleans ashtrays; transports trash and waste to disposal area, adhering to health and safety protocols.
  • Clean litter box/cage for residents who have a pet, and dispose of waste, maintaining a clean and hygienic environment.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED), or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, with a focus on resident care and comfort.
  • Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.
  • Ability to speak and/or read simple English sentences for responding to residents' needs quickly and appropriately.
  • Interact well with our Carlton Family residents, family members, all staff members, and future residents.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding and carry out written or oral instructions.
  • Current First Aid Certification (obtained through community).
  • DOJ and FBI fingerprint clearance must be completed prior to working in community (obtained through community).
  • Health screening and negative TB test, must be less than six (6) months old (obtained through community).
