The Project Manager will oversee field operations related to the Remedial Construction Service Area, reporting directly to the Service Area Manager.

KEY REMEDIAL CONSTRUCTION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Willingness to travel (up to 100% & Company vehicle provided)

  • Commitment to working 8+ hours a day, up to 6 days a week.

  • Maintaining an acceptable driving record and following established vehicle use protocols.

  • Reporting all incidents of injury, property damage, accidental release, and near misses.

ESSENTIAL FIELD MANAGEMENT DUTIES:

  • Adherence to Company Policy.
  • Assisting in the selection and procurement of vendors, equipment, and subcontractors for upcoming projects.
  • Acting as Safety Officer while on-site.
  • Documenting daily safety meetings.
  • Utilizing skills to assign tasks and motivate project team members.
  • Ensuring public and private utility locates are completed and properly marked before work begins.
  • Executing project objectives as defined by the scope of work, specifications, and health and safety plan.
  • Communicating current project status and upcoming needs to the Project Manager or Service Area Manager.
  • Preparing project daily reports.
  • Assisting the Project Manager or Service Area Manager in the development of client invoices.
  • Managing projects within schedule and budget constraints as defined by the Project Manager or Service Area Manager.
  • Maintaining communication with client field representatives.
  • Ensuring tools, equipment, and vehicles are routinely inspected, properly maintained, and deficiencies corrected.
  • Keeping the shop organized and clean.
  • Identifying new business opportunities through relationships with existing clients.
  • Exploring cross-selling opportunities with other service areas.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Years of experience in construction.
  • Years of supervisory or management experience.
  • Years of experience in environmental remediation.
  • Combination of experience and education that meets minimum requirements may be considered.
  • Knowledge of remedial construction techniques, including UST closure projects, dig & haul projects, treatment system installations, soil mixing, plant decommissioning, and demolition.
  • Comprehensive understanding of OSHA construction standards and ability to interpret regulations and guidance.
  • Capability to develop innovative solutions to complex construction challenges.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proficient writing skills.
  • Understanding of general engineering principles.
  • Ability to read and interpret Gantt Chart style project schedules.
  • Ability to read and understand project drawings and notes.
  • Skill in negotiating and procuring cost-effective resources to achieve project objectives.
  • Experience in managing out-of-scope work and developing change order costs.
  • Oversight of subcontractor performance and compliance with project requirements.
  • Experience in job preparation, including developing load lists, field instructions, and securing travel/lodging.
  • Participation in client pre-construction meetings.
  • Experience with bid opportunities, including site visits, production estimates, and obtaining supplier quotations.
  • Ability to delegate to and manage Field Supervisors, Field Technicians, and Heavy Equipment Operators in executing projects with limited supervision.
  • Experience in mentoring Field Supervisors, Field Technicians, and Heavy Equipment Operators.
  • Management of jobs, including developing load lists, field instructions, and securing travel/lodging.
  • Proven track record of generating $2.5M in gross revenue annually.
