About the Role:
The Quality Engineer is responsible for steering the completion of APQP deliverables to meet program efficiency, cost, and quality benchmarks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Directs cross-functional teams to fulfill APQP deliverables within the designated program timeline, focusing primarily on control plans.
- Provides assistance, guidance, and expedites solutions to enhance quality, drive cost efficiency, and address departmental challenges.
- Adheres to OEM quality protocols and submits necessary documentation to secure PPAP or other approvals.
- Develops, revises, and maintains essential documentation to uphold various company and external certifications.
- Evaluates and enhances the efficiency, output, safety, and quality of manufacturing processes through careful observation and data analysis.
- Participates in strategic planning and the training and development of all personnel.
- Leads technical and operational staff in a collaborative environment to boost safety, efficiency, output, and quality.
- Exhibits leadership values across all responsibilities.
- Undertakes additional duties or projects as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in an engineering-related discipline is mandatory.
- A minimum of 2 years of quality experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably in the automotive sector.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficient in utilizing problem-solving methodologies such as Six Sigma, Fishbone, KT, PDCA, and 8D.
- Intermediate to advanced computer proficiency, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Familiarity with quality systems, including TS/IATF 16949 and AIAG standards.
- Understanding of OEM Supplier Portals and associated processes.
- Knowledge of MMOG/BIQS/VDA/Q1 standards.
- Experience with D/PFMEA, PPAP, MSA, SPC, and APQP methodologies.
- Demonstrated experience in leading continuous improvement initiatives.
- Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.
- Strong customer interaction skills.
- Robust analytical and project management abilities.
- Capability to formulate and present effective solutions to team members and management.
- Aptitude for influencing and collaborating with others.
