Position Overview:

The Senior Renewable Energy Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning and execution of large-scale renewable energy projects, specifically those with a capacity of 1 megawatt (MW) or more. This role encompasses the entire project lifecycle, from land acquisition to the initiation of construction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the development phases of wind and solar projects, ensuring effective progress through all stages.
  • Coordinate a team of experts to provide accurate project timelines, budget forecasts, and engineering specifications.
  • Monitor project budgets and oversee the procurement of necessary resources, ensuring cost-effective practices.
  • Communicate project updates to stakeholders, fostering a clear understanding of project goals and expectations.
  • Identify and evaluate potential opportunities for renewable project development, including negotiations for land use agreements.
  • Assist in the preparation of marketing materials and proposals for renewable energy development and potential mergers.
  • Assess risks associated with projects and implement strategies to mitigate them.
  • Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory standards throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Analyze market trends and conditions in the renewable energy sector across various regions.
  • Engage with industry groups to stay informed about policy changes and new initiatives affecting renewable energy.
  • Support community outreach efforts to promote project objectives and engage with local stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of project management experience, including at least 2 years in renewable energy or community development.
  • Alternatively, an Associate degree with 7 years of relevant experience, or a high school diploma with 9 years of project management experience.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in engineering, construction management, or business administration.
  • Familiarity with the renewable energy sector and local permitting processes.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
  • Proficient in project management software and tools.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with a capacity to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholder demands effectively and maintain composure under pressure.
