Position: Blue Yonder Transportation Management Systems Solution Architect

Experience Requirements:

  • At least 7 years of dedicated experience with Blue Yonder's Transportation Management Systems, Warehouse Management Systems, or Warehouse Labor Management systems, either as a client or as a consultant.
  • Experience with other prominent supply chain planning solutions such as HighJump, Manhattan, or SAP may be relevant.
  • Preferred background in management consulting or Supply Chain Centers.
  • Experience in Manufacturing, Retail, or 3PL sectors is advantageous.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Supply Chain processes related to Transportation Management.
  • Proficient in using, implementing, or supporting TMS applications (e.g., Red Prairie, i2, or advanced TMS solutions from other vendors).
  • Ability to distinguish between configuration and customization, understanding the complexity involved.
  • Strong process mapping skills.
  • Capable of designing functional solutions and business processes for large or intricate clients.
  • Proven track record in identifying business improvement opportunities and proposing suitable solutions.
  • Basic SQL knowledge and understanding of programming concepts.
  • In-depth understanding of cloud technologies.
  • Experience in pre-sales activities and collaboration with Product Development.
  • Strong project management skills (certification preferred) and mentoring experience.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Lead architect for execution verticals with a focus on Blue Yonder Transportation Management Systems, along with a solid understanding of Warehouse Management and Labor Management systems.
  • Act as a solution expert for transformational projects and programs.
  • Assist in identifying necessary Change Management efforts for global or regional program implementations.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations for various audiences, including users, management, and executives.
  • Guide and influence clients on industry best practices and process methodologies.
  • Estimate the effort required for implementation tasks and recommend appropriate roles for execution.
  • Assess business needs that extend beyond standard solutions and evaluate integration complexities.
  • Facilitate discussions on product functionality and architecture across a suite of products.
  • Provide level 3 non-technical support during the implementation phase, ensuring the system meets business requirements and maintains data integrity.
  • Identify and highlight additional revenue opportunities with existing clients.
  • Serve as a functional liaison in key meetings with project managers, solution architects, and customer stakeholders.
  • Communicate specific customer needs regarding product functionality and enhancements.
  • Ensure effective knowledge transfer with the customer project team.
  • Stay updated on new releases and functionalities, acting as a liaison for communication.
  • Guide the development and execution of test scripts to ensure alignment with customer objectives.
  • Understand how Blue Yonder transportation solutions can be configured to support customer business processes.
  • Collaborate with project managers in planning efforts and create detailed task estimates.
  • Provide advice on industry best practices and process methodologies.
  • Lead business process analysis during the design phase, resulting in solution design specifications.
  • Facilitate integration discussions of product functionality and architecture.
  • Oversee the development of functional specifications for implementations that meet customer objectives.
  • Manage complex customer engagements, ensuring smooth implementation and integration of technical and functional requirements.
  • Communicate application capability gaps to Product Marketing and Development.
  • Develop and validate test plans and scripts to ensure software meets customer objectives.
  • Create and update procedural and system documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Verify that the system fulfills required business functions and maintains data integrity.
  • Support communication of business cases to Product Management regarding trends for future enhancements.
  • Deliver presentations for various audiences, ensuring knowledge transfer with the customer project team.
  • Maintain current knowledge of Blue Yonder and competitor software.
  • Contribute to pre-sales activities, including demonstrations and documentation support.

Required Skills:

  • Strong business analysis skills, including statistical algorithms and inventory optimization concepts.
  • Ability to prepare and deliver presentations effectively to various audiences.

Educational Background:

  • Advanced degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Logistics, or Operations Research is preferred.
  • A Bachelor's degree with relevant industry experience may be considered in lieu of an advanced degree.
