Job Title: Diesel Technician

Holland America Line and Princess Cruises are seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to join our team in Fairbanks. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance inspections, determining vehicle condition, and applying company and governmental regulations to ensure compliance.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine repair and preventative maintenance tasks on our fleet of motorcoaches, bag trucks, and light-duty vehicles.
  • Review and determine action on Driver Inspection Reports, applying knowledge of maintenance procedures, government regulations, and company expectations.
  • Maintain complete and accurate maintenance records, including work orders, Federal inspections, and DVIRs.
  • Clean and maintain work areas, company tools, and equipment.
  • Prioritize work, meet deadlines, maintain attention to accuracy and detail, and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Communicate clearly, verbally and written, with customers, employees, and management, maintaining a good working rapport with driver guides and lodge-based co-workers.
Requirements:
  • Equivalent knowledge of vehicle maintenance acquired through technical school certification or directly related work experience.
  • CFC Handler Certified and Brake Inspection Qualified is preferred.
  • Motorcoach Maintenance, Preferred, 1 year.
  • Heavy Duty Truck Maintenance, Preferred, 1 year.
  • Light-duty vehicle maintenance.
Abilities, Knowledge, and Skills:
  • Diesel Engine troubleshooting and repair.
  • Electrical system troubleshooting and repair.
  • Air conditioning troubleshooting and repair.
