Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Trades Technician to join our team at Nationwide Children's Hospital. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the building's exterior and interior integrity, including the building shell, walls, ceilings, and flooring systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform repair tasks related to the building shell and all systems integrated in that shell, including floors, floor coverings, ceilings, walls, doors, windows, and related hardware.
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly inspections on systems as assigned via the PM system.
  • Repair and install shelving, casework, and specialized furniture or equipment as needed.
  • Install and remove artwork, bulletin boards, certificates, computer mounting hardware, and other items as requested.
  • Maintain systems as required by NFPA 101 Life Safety Code, NFPA 80, Joint Commission Surveys, ODH, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Work with other Engineering trades, hospital personnel, and outside contractors/vendors as needed.
  • Perform minor electrical work, including troubleshooting and repairing low-voltage door controls, access systems, and changing light bulbs.
  • Perform general repair work in connection with the maintenance of hospital equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance of shop equipment as needed.
  • Assist other hospital departments through the work request system, keeping an accurate daily log of hours used and work performed.
  • Inventory and order material as needed.
Requirements
  • High school graduate
  • Two years of commercial experience
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Desired: Certification from a trade program or miscellaneous installation/repair certifications from vendors
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work indoors and outdoors, and may be exposed to dust, dirt, grease, unpleasant weather, hot and confined work areas.
