Job Summary

Nebraska Spine Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Sterile Processing Technician I to join our team. As a key member of our sterile processing department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety.

The successful candidate will be responsible for cleaning, inspecting, processing, assembling, and sterilizing all instruments and equipment in accordance with industry standards and manufacturer instructions. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate and legible documentation, participating in department activities, and following universal precautions and OSHA requirements.

We are looking for an experienced SPD Tech who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities

1. Clean, inspect, process, assemble, and sterilize all instruments and equipment.

2. Maintain accurate and legible documentation.

3. Participate in department activities, including orientation, system education, quality, daily briefing, and supply needs.

4. Follow universal precautions and OSHA requirements at all times.

5. Assist with daily/weekly testing and logging of all mechanical equipment.

6. Identify items needing repair and assist with routine maintenance of instrumentation.

7. Complete case cart assembly and assist with OR room turnover.

8. Use supplies efficiently and correctly, according to manufacturer instructions.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required. 1-2 years' experience in the field and certification by CBSPD or IAHCSMM preferred.
