Job Summary:

As a Sterile Processing Technician I at Nebraska Spine Hospital, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest level of patient care by maintaining the cleanliness and sterility of medical instruments and equipment. This is a challenging and rewarding position that requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to quality and safety.

Responsibilities:

• Clean, inspect, process, assemble, and sterilize all instruments and equipment according to policy, industry standards, and manufacturer instructions.
• Practice universal precautions and follow OSHA requirements at all times.
• Assist with daily and weekly testing and logging of mechanical equipment, including washers, sonic, and sterilizers.
• Maintain accurate and legible documentation.
• Assist with routine maintenance of instrumentation by identifying items needing repair.
• Follow procedure for set assembly using instrument checklists and/or instrument tracking where available.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Complete case cart assembly by adding needed instrumentation to the cart.
• Assist with OR room turnover.
• Clean and HLD GI scopes, bronchoscopes, and TEE probes.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experienced SPD technician.
• Certification by CBSPD or IAHCSMM preferred.
