Job Summary

Barnes & Noble College is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, leading a team of sales associates, and ensuring the smooth operation of our store.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide outstanding customer service to students, faculty, and staff, ensuring a positive shopping experience.
  • Lead and develop a team of sales associates, providing coaching and guidance to achieve sales goals and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Assist with daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, inventory management, and visual merchandising.
  • Help resolve customer complaints and issues, escalating problems to management as needed.
  • Collaborate with the management team to achieve sales goals, manage inventory, and maintain a clean and organized store environment.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience in a retail or customer-facing role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse team.
  • Basic math skills and ability to handle cash and operate a point-of-sale system.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Working Conditions

The Supervisor will work in a fast-paced retail environment, with frequent movement within the store to access various departments and products. The ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods and occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds is required.
