About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to join our team at Blue Origin. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a critical role in the development and operation of our New Glenn launch vehicle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development and execution of our systems engineering risk, issue, and opportunity processes
  • Work closely with engineering and program management teams to identify and manage risks, issues, and opportunities
  • Lead mitigation strategies and burndown plans to ensure successful project outcomes
  • Manage the risk database and facilitate risk review boards
  • Coach team members through the risk process and provide guidance on risk management best practices
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in systems engineering, systems development, or systems integration
  • Ability to assimilate technical engineering information quickly and summarize concisely
  • Proven ability to develop and implement short-term and long-term strategies to mitigate risks to a program's technical requirements, assets, cost/schedule baselines, and safety
  • Demonstrated ability to build trusting and effective working relationships that improve team performance and deliver results
  • Highly adaptable in a fast-paced, hyper-growth environment; able to thrive with ambiguity
  • Strong communication, organization, and analytical aptitude in support of enabling senior leadership to make informed, critical decisions
  • Capability to obtain wide system and program knowledge to convey complex system dependencies and impacts
  • Continual improvement mindset towards processes and tools
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and Tableau
  • 3+ years of direct Risk Management experience
  • Involvement with multiple portions of an aerospace product life cycle: R&D, Development, Production
  • Experience with aerospace vehicles or engines
  • Experience with Primavera (P6), Doors Next Gen, CREO, Windchill, Microsoft Suite
