Job Summary:

As a Google Fiber Installation Technician at AFL, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and customer experience of high-speed Internet and voice services. This role requires working both inside and outside the home, ensuring a seamless and efficient installation process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Installation and repair of Internet services, including the installation of customer premises equipment, connecting fiber optic jumpers, and running or reusing COAX or CAT5/CAT6 wiring.
• Network configuration and verification, as well as customer education on services provided.
• Ability to perform job activities in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, snow, and inclement weather.

Requirements:

• Valid state driver's license and non-negligent driving record.
• Pre-employment background check and drug/alcohol screening.
• Ability to carry, handle, and climb 24ft ladders.
• Weekend and holiday work may be required.
• Ability to work well in a team environment and independently to achieve common goals in the field with little supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience configuring routers and home networks.
• Telecom/low-voltage installation experience, including CAT5/CAT6 and/or COAX.
• Working knowledge of basic power and hand tools.
• Basic knowledge of home construction.
• Customer service experience.

Physical Demands:

• Meet the safety restriction weight limit of 275 lbs.
• Ability to lift and move up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to work in confined spaces, including attics and crawl spaces.
• Ability to operate power and hand tools.
• Ability to visually perceive differences in wire and cable colors.
• Provide quality customer service, including face-to-face and over-the-phone interactions.
• Required to walk, sit, climb, drive, stand, kneel, balance, stoop, and reach.
