ROLE SUMMARY

We are seeking a proficient Latvian language and cultural educator to create and facilitate a foundational course aimed at equipping students with essential courtesies and cultural insights necessary for effective engagement with local counterparts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and implement a comprehensive language instruction program comprising 20 hours of live training sessions, supplemented by a language workbook for student reference.
  • Develop a detailed syllabus and lesson plans that outline the course structure and content.
  • Create, administer, and evaluate an oral proficiency examination to assess student comprehension and language skills.
  • Ensure that course design and delivery align with established instructional standards and incorporate feedback from program leadership.
  • Conduct live virtual training sessions, fostering an interactive learning environment.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Course Manager to ensure seamless course execution and review.
  • Engage with program leadership as necessary to discuss course progress and improvements.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Native or near-native proficiency in the Latvian language.
  • A bachelor's degree or a certification recognized by the Department of Defense.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in language instruction, demonstrating effective teaching and student engagement.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
