As a key member of the Food Lion team, you will be responsible for leading the Perishable Department and ensuring its success. This role requires a high level of expertise in store operations, as well as excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.

About the Role:

The Perishable Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Perishable Department, including hiring, training, and developing department associates. You will also supervise the performance of all duties and responsibilities of department associates, providing ongoing performance management, training, and conducting timely formal performance appraisals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Perishable Department, including labor management and coaching associates to achieve productivity expectations
  • Provide leadership and motivation within the store to promote a culture reflective of Food Lion's Guiding Principles, Core Values, Vision, and Strategy
  • Support the achievement of budgeted financial and operating results
  • Ensure that all advertising and sales promotion materials and signage applicable to the Perishable Department are properly utilized
  • Monitor shrink, providing coaching for associates to recognize and prevent losses
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
  • Adhere to all company guidelines, policies, and standard practices
  • Maintain security standards
  • Successfully complete Computer Based Training (CBT), Training Packet, and Training Aid courses

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school graduate or equivalent preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, and customer service skills
  • Good understanding of store operations preferred
  • Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job
  • Ability to use technical information to solve problems
  • Ability to lead and direct others
  • Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations

Salary:

This role offers an estimated salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and location. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as 401(k) matching and paid time off.
