Position Overview

As a vital member of the healthcare team, the Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse (NICU RN) is responsible for delivering exceptional care to critically ill and premature infants.

Department:
NICU

Shift Details:
19:00 - 07:30 Hours, Monday to Friday (3 Days/12 Hours)

Weekly Commitment:
36 Hours

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administering comprehensive care to newborns requiring intensive medical attention.
  • Addressing the fundamental needs of infants, including feeding and hygiene.
  • Executing medical interventions such as intravenous line placements, diagnostic testing, and medication administration.
  • Supporting NICU physicians during various medical procedures and treatments.
  • Utilizing and calibrating specialized medical apparatus effectively.
  • Developing nursing care plans and assessing the success of implemented treatments.
  • Providing emotional support to distressed newborns and their families.
  • Educating parents and family members on post-discharge care for their infants.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Current Registered Nursing License.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in an ICU or NICU setting.
  • CPR Certification.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to provide emotional support to families and guardians.
  • Familiarity with NICU-specific medical equipment.
  • Teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Compassionate care for ill infants.

Required Certifications:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification
